Is there any free accounting software?

I always wondered if there is simple software out there for managing business accounts. Sage and it's ilk are just too expensive and you don't need that complexity early on. any way I was checking out http://www.flyingstart-ncge.com/displaythread.php?postid=826&forumid=3 and found a recommendation for http://www.helpfulaccountant.co.uk/. I haven't actually used it yet. I'm really blogging it so I've got a record of it so I can come back and try it when the time comes.
